Position Overview

iSpecimen seeks an experienced Clinical Research Site Manager who will help expand our supply partner network which consists of numerous organizations who provide our research customers with access to patients and their specimens. This position will be responsible for developing relationships with clinics, research centers, hospitals, biorepositories, and other organizations who can provide human specimens (biofluids, tissues, and cells) and associated data. Working with other Site Development Team Members, this position will be charged with building out the pipeline of specimen suppliers. The Clinical Site Manager will also play an instrumental role in onboarding the providers into the iSpecimen supply network as well as maintaining productive relationships with those providers.

Responsibilities of Clinical Research Site Manager

  • Work with our sales team, understand researchers’ current and anticipated needs for biospecimens to develop a strategy and plan for supplier development;
  • Develop and grow business opportunities with supply sites at all stages of the business development cycle, including targeting, prospecting, presenting, nurturing, and contract negotiating;
  • Develop account plans for potential supply partner sites, understanding the decision making process and workflow at each site;
  • Prepare and present the iSpecimen business opportunity to C-level executives, lab administration and operations, compliance, IT, legal, and others at potential supply partners;
  • Effectively manage contract negotiations and close new business deals with supply partners, working closely with executives at iSpecimen;
  • Collaborate with iSpecimen supply implementations team and supplier operations team to ensure successful onboarding of supply sites;
  • Using your knowledge of and relationships at supply sites, work with sales to target specific opportunities to supply sites and help facilitate specimen collection opportunities at the sites;
  • Manage ongoing relationships with partners sites to ensure their continued success;
  • Prepare and give business reviews to the executive team;
  • Other duties as required.

Qualifications of Clinical Research Site Manager

  • 5-10 years of business development experience with significant exposure to clinical trial or biospecimen collection organizations;
  • Knowledge of research compliance regulations, such as HIPAA, 45CFR, and 21CFR;
  • Strong presentation and organizational skills;
  • Ability to multitask and adapt to changing business needs and a willingness to pitch in wherever needed;
  • Team-oriented attitude with the ability to work with employees at all levels of the organization;
  • Great interpersonal skills; positive attitude; energetic;
  • Knowledge of the biospecimen market or biospecimen research a plus.
